Feel better Naturally- Acupuncture and Pain Relief

Acupuncture is a safe, natural, and effective way to relieve pain, support injury recovery, and enhance your overall health.

By inserting fine, sterile acupuncture needles into specific points on the body, acupuncture stimulates the nervous system, helps to regulate and relax the body, boosts circulation, reduces inflammation, and encourages the release of endorphins- your body’s natural painkillers. This makes acupuncture a valuable treatment method in managing both acute injuries and chronic pain conditions.

With minimal side effects, it can also be used in support of conventional medical treatments.

Modern Holistic Treatment Inspired by Tradition

Acupuncture is part of the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) system, which has been used to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness for more than 3,000 years. It is accepted around the globe as a safe, effective, and holistic alternative or complement to modern conventional medicine.

In TCM, good health and disease are viewed as a state of balance or imbalance within the body. Treatment can focus on relieving symptoms. However, the holistic nature of TCM seeks to address the root cause of ill health and aims to restore balance and enhance overall health and wellbeing.

The TCM practitioner diagnoses the patient's signs, asks questions about symptoms, and considers overall state of wellness from a unique perspective. The purpose of treatment is to correct imbalances so the body, mind, and spirit can return to their natural state of harmony.

Each person is treated for their unique imbalance, and treatment is tailored to the patient's individual needs and health goals.

Traditional Chinese Medical Therapies

At Auckland Acupuncture Clinic we can incorporate a range of therapies within your Acupuncture session if they are beneficial for your particular condition.

Acupressure

Acupressure is a suitable alternative if you prefer not to have needles. It works by applying pressure to the same points used in Acupuncture, helping to promote balance and support the body’s natural healing processes

Massage

Possibly the oldest form of healing; it is the manipulation of the body through touch.  There are over eighty different recognized styles of Massage Therapy commonly practiced around the world.

The clinical effectiveness of massage has proven to benefit muscles, tendons, skin, joints, connective tissues, lymphatic vessels, organs, gastrointestinal system and also promotes a deep sense of relaxation which soothes the nervous system.
It truly is a Body Mind Spirit Treatment!

At Auckland Acupuncture Clinic we provide massage styles and techniques blended together to form a therapeutic & structural bodywork system adaptable to your needs.

Cupping

Specially designed glass cups are used in conjunctuon with heat to create a vacumme.  The therapy stimulates circluation in superficial muscle layers and draws toxins to the skin surface.  It is used to promote circulation and restore Qi flow, neck, lower back, shoulder, muscle tension and pain, injury, pain, disc injuries, joint pain, fever, common cold, sciatica, bronchial congestion and more.

Moxa

A Traditional Chinese Medical technique where we burn a herbal roll to gently heat above the skin over specific acupuncture points. Moxa is often combined with acupuncture making treatment of certain conditions more effective.

GuaSha

We use a jade or a stainless steel massage tool for this Traditional Chinese Medical technique. Gentle pressure is applied to the GuaSha tool as it is moved over the skin, it helps bring stagnant blood or toxins called “sha” from the muscles. GauSha removes blood stagnation and detoxes areas of imbalance or pain.  Fast relief can be experienced from pain, muscle tension, stress, fever or chills, cough and more.

Electro-acupuncture

The combination of needling and electro stimulation can be performed using a TENS machine specially designed for acupuncture, a contraction or vibration can be felt as gentle electro stimulas is attached to the needle and adjusted for comfort.  Electro-acupuncture can be used for injury, pain, spasm, to help labour and can be used for its analgesic and sedative effects.

Auricular-acupuncture

Also known as ear acupuncture, is effectively used to treat addiction, anxiety, stress, pain, aids in weight loss and more. The ear acupuncture points help to regulate internal organs, body structures, and functions. Ear acupuncture treatment can keep working long after your treatment by wearing tiny adhesive magnets or adhesive needles left in for several days.

Far-Infared heat lamp

Gentle Infared heat is often used during acupuncture treatments to help muscle pain, spasm, weakness, joint problems, stiffness of neck and shoulders or if warming is required.

Herbs

Herbal remedies can be used as part of your acupuncture treatment or for a specific ongoing condition.  We have a range of Traditional Chinese Medical Patent herbal formulas in the form of pills, capsules or powders for children.
